How AI is impacting hiring
Managers are increasingly facing an uphill battle when asking for more staff, Bloomberg reports. While many companies are not principally against adding more people, companies including Shopify and JPMorgan Chase are among the employers that have raised the bar for new hires, with entry-level roles the most likely to be outsourced to generative AI tools. The increased use of AI in the workplace has resulted in longer hiring timelines, more headcount requests being paused or rejected and firms opting more often to hire contractors instead of full-time employees.
